Valley Thunder Homeschool Sports was formed in 2018 to serve the homeschool community in Frederick, Clark, Warren, and Shenandoah in Virginia and Berkley Springs, Jefferson  and surrounding counties in West Virginia. We offer a variety of sports including girls and boys basketball, girls volleyball, girls and boys soccer, developmental basketball, and coming this summer: flag football camp, pick-up basketball, pick-up soccer, and open tennis (with an instructor) . We’d love to consider other sports to add to our line up, so if you have an area you’d like to help coach or recruit volunteers for, let us know!

Summer Homeschool Activities Registration

Valley Thunder Homeschool Sports is accepting registrations for our Summer activities. We are hosting pick-up basketball, pick-up soccer, flag football camp, and open tennis. Each activity is $25/kid. If your kid is interesting in multiple activities, you can register for everything at a bundled fee of $65/kid.

Flag Football Camp – Tuesday evenings beginning June 1 for five weeks. This will be held in the Jim Barnett Park area in Winchester. Open to homeschool kids of all ages.

Pick-up Soccer – Tuesday evenings beginning July 6 for six to eight weeks. This will be held either in the Jim Barnett Park area or at another local Winchester park assigned by Winchester Parks & Rec. Open to homeschool kids of all ages.

Pick-up Basketball – Thursday evenings beginning July 1 through September. In July, this will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Winchester from 7:30 to 9:00. Starting in August, this will be held at the Youth Development Center in Winchester from 5:30 to 7:30. Due to popularity and space limitations, this will initially only be available to homeschool kids ages 11+. However, keep eyes open for another potential basketball program for kids under 11 in August.

Open Tennis (with Instruction) – Dates are TBD but will most likely be on Monday evening, Friday evening, or Saturday morning. Location is most likely at Jim Barnett Park. Expect it to occur between June and July. Open to homeschool kids of all ages.
